May 2026: Engine control MV Agusta - Supermotors!
(Part 2 of 3)
Of course, it is important that all mechanical and safety components are well taken care of; for example, regular oil and filter changes (always original) and to the best possible oil quality (for example MOTUL 300V). Today, however, it is at least as important that the electronics, ie the engine control is maintained!
Basically, it is very important that the battery is in good condition. All modern electronic systems are sensitive to the right voltage levels. That is, if you have a regular lead/acid battery, even type AGM, you should continuously maintain charging with a safe charger (for example, Swedish CTEK).
NOTE! Always disconnect the positive pole after driving to avoid discharging the battery to some extent.
The next important maintenance point is that the engine control is updated and adjusted and that all sensors give correct values. On later model years, the instrumentation is also updated. The engine control, i.e. the software in the ECU, contains both the basic control functions and operating functions (the so-called maps) for properties such as ignition/fuel mixture. This means that the entire engine character can be changed and updated continuously as customer experience, factory test driver experience develops and development errors (so-called bugs) are found...
Another important update is the possibility to adapt to changed equipment, for example when changing to a more open sports exhaust system and open sports filter. This adaptation is performed via a special routine in the diagnostic system, a so-called adaptation where the engine parameters are adjusted in a running sequence until the engine reaches operating temperature.
Since 2002, we have regularly performed authorized service and repairs on all modern MV models, both 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder. We have continuously developed a service program that is adapted to each model and current mileage and taking into account the experience gained over the years.
After the work has been carried out, you will always receive a detailed service report where the points carried out are marked and where any deviations are noted.
NOTE! You now also get an exclusive MV Agusta Garage Carpet at no extra cost!
